What is dermatology?

Dermatology

As a specialty Dermatology encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of skin ailments from the simplest blemish to the most aggressive of cancers. Inflammatory skin diseases such as eczema and psoriasis, acne, rosacea and benign or malignant lesions are just some of the conditions we are happy to see and assess. There may be occasions when we feel you may be better served by seeing a colleague with a more specific interest in an aspect of dermatology such as allergy or contact dermatitis and we will advise you of this. If you are a new patient to Stratum, to help us help you, we will usually ask you to provide a letter of referral from your primary care physician and/or to complete a patient information sheet.
