Dr Maria Bageta is a Paediatrician and Paediatric Dermatologist who works as a Consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital where she reviews patients with complex paediatric dermatology conditions, leads a transition clinic for patients with ichthyosis and runs laser therapy lists for children with birthmarks. Dr Bageta has a clinical interest in all skin conditions but specialises in eczema, haemangiomas (strawberry birthmarks), undiagnosed rashes, moles, birthmarks, and childhood acne. Dr Bageta has a passion for research and has worked as the lead research fellow in Mission EB, a cell therapy trial for children with recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa. She is involved in a large research portfolio in Dermatology at GOSH, has presented her work at many international meetings in Dermatology, acts as a peer reviewer and has published several articles as main author and co-author in peer reviewed journals. She is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) and an active member of Dermatology Societies such as ESPD, BAD, BSPAD and ISPD.
